Saab gave us the opportunity to develop the following strategic applications. These
needed to be delivered on time and within a strict budget: -
Labour Time Guide. This windows based application is used world wide and provides dealers with accurate labour times that are used for scheduling, pricing customer invoices and making warranty claims.
Menu Pricing system. This allows dealers to provide workshop quotes quickly and accurately. It is widely used in 13 countries including Scandinavia, USA, UK, and Australia. Menu Pricing is highly integrated with Dealer management systems.
A unique integration method. This allows the user to hop between applications and will automatically position the application at the appropriate screen/page. For example, you could be looking in the parts catalogue at a clutch, by clicking on the MP Icon it would take across all relevant vehicle information and would display the quotation for fitting it.
Authoring Systems. These enabled Saab to maintain the labour times and also the individual menu packages. The Menu Pricing production system has many labour saving features and has several in built checks to ensure the quality of the data. The production database covers all Saab models and variants since 1979 and covers 80% of the jobs going through a workshop, yet only one man is needed to maintain and update the menu pricing packages.
Extra functionality. Spin offs from Menu pricing include automatic feeds to several third party products including Extended Warranty Claims Administration and Fleet systems.
All these applications were developed using Microsoft Visual Basic and use an SQL database.
